BOOK REVIEW | The Minor Protection Act

minorprotectionact THE MINOR PROTECTION ACT – A NOVEL
by Jodi Cowles

Cowles weaves a frighteningly real story of hidden political agendas motivated under the guise of tolerance and freedom. Jack Stone, a relatively young lawyer wins the case that sends Nick Rodman to jail for polluting the mind of the Jessup’s daughter, Jayla with Christian values and thereby causing her suicide. The President takes the opportunity to employ Jack to support and promote his baby, the Minor Protection Act.

Under the guise of protection for future generations from intolerance and bigotry, children will be taken from earmarked parents and placed in the adoptive care of more open-minded and tolerant couples. Unless the parents sign the Tolerance Oath, a deceptively simple document that binds personal and religious freedom. As the Act is imposed upon law-abiding, bible-believing Christians, the story unfolds with the growing doubts and reservations of Jack Stone in helping to bring the Act into enablement.

Disturbingly current with characters that could be you and me, the Minor Protection Act draws the reader into a world that is frighteningly relevant causing one to pause to take a closer look at the cost of complacency. Emotive and stirring, this book will cause the reader to take stock of their personal beliefs and wonder at what price they would pay to be involved in taking a stand against a powerful few for the sake of righteousness.
